Trauma
My background has focused on providing education, support, and therapeutic care to survivors of trauma, and in particular those who don't feel they fit the "typical" image of a survivor, or who may face additional barriers to receiving care. I specialize in working with survivors of sexual violence and interpersonal violence, and especially survivors who are members of the LGBTQ community.
I practice using a stage model of trauma treatment, focusing primarily on helping clients achieve and maintain safety, stability, and peace. I have research experience exploring system dynamics pertaining to understanding and reducing the instance of sexual assault on university campuses. My previous work at Fenway Community Health Center pertained to interpersonal violence recovery, empowerment, psychoeducation, and PTSD/trauma treatment using Prolonged Exposure Therapy, the "gold-standard for PTSD treatment."
